English advice/help.?

For my English Oral: I have to become a character (fictional or real) and I have to reflect and justify (as my character) on the actions I have done. Trying to manipulate the facts, whilst creating audience empathy for my character. Basically I have to justify the attitudes, values and beliefs that contributed to my characters actions and decisions.

Most people are just choosing controversial dictators (like Stalin and Hilter) whilst others are choosing Pol Pot, Anne Boleyn and Marie Antoinette etc. Personally I thought about Reverend Jim Jones. But how would I justify his actions?

Any help or suggestions would be great!English advice/help.?
How about Creon from Antigone? Justifying is not something he would want to do when he's lost everything...Another, maybe better one would be Brutus from Julius Caesar, justifying his participation in killing of Julius Caesar, who totally trusted him...and betrayal by Noble Brutus was the last thing that Caesar knew. Justification, Brutus felt Caesar was a threat to their democracy, Brutus loved Caesar but he loved Rome more, Brutus received letters (fake) from citizens of Rome asking him save Rome from Caesar's tyrannical intentions etc.English advice/help.?
you could say he suffered from delusions and couldnt help acting the way he did.
