Ok heres the deal, a year ago i recieved a mobile phone bill which was higher than id expected (about 拢200 more) i stupidly didnt pay it as i didnt have the money so i was getting letters for about 2 months then they stopped for a few months until three months ago.
I recieved a letter from a debt collector comany (im in Scotland) requsting i pay the full amount but i did not have the money at the time to do so, so i ignored it and when the next one arrived saying they were sending a debt collector out to my house to see me i called them and agreed to pay 25% of the amount. However i have since left my work and im not earning a wage so therefor cannot pay them. When i was in the house someone came to my door and the man looked like a debt collector cause he had a laptop and hung around outside for a while, i never answered the door. I live with my Dad and he has no idea i owe this money out. Can they come to my house and take items considering the debt is in my name?Im in a bit of trouble and need financial advice....help! They say that the worst thing you can do is nothing. Call them, talk to them, and try to arrange a payment schedule that you can work with. Can you ask your dad for help? They probably can take you to collections and garnish your wages. This will also get on your credit report and muck that up for years to come.
