My husband and I just recently had our really close friends (who are also married) over for a 5 day weekend.
My friend brought something up with me the next day (since they got in late) about how she's been getting more jealous lately, and been getting more irritated and more harsh in words, and the replies come in a 'stinging' way to her husband lately, and she's been feeling helpless lately, and a tiny bit moody on occasion, and she asked me to help give her some ideas so that she can calm the way she is feeling right now.
They also have only been married for about 2 months, and have known each other for a quite a while.
I was wondering if anyone could give me advice to give to her? My husband and I have been married for a while now and I can't remember if I acted the same way when we got married, then had to move into a house, and stuff, I was probably more stressed out seeing my husband is in the Marines, but I just want to give her some good advice on how to calm all these feelings and possibly help her to understand why she is going through these feeling.
If it matters I'll explain a little bit about her and her husband.
He's a mechanic that works a lot
He's not the type of guy at all that would stray
He's down to earth
And he does try to always make time for her.
She's not working right now, but doesn't want to because she says she's about to go to college to take a class.
She stays home everyday just watching movies, cleaning house, talking to me and friends, and going online.
She's down to earth as well
And she's not the type of girl that would stray.
Thanks for anybody that could help me out!!!!
[:Giving advice but need advice. HELP?!!?
I think your friend is feeling the stress of coping with married life. It's possible that she had college plans and a potential career, but that took a back seat to being a ';stay at home'; wife. This is leading her to feeling inferior especially if her friends are working with good careers.
She really needs to sit down with her husband and explore their options. Does he help out with the housework? Can she go to school and hold down a job? They really need to sit down and talk!!
Good luck in talking to her!!Giving advice but need advice. HELP?!!?
Have her go to the OB and get her estrogen levels checked. Has she been feeling ';spaced out';? It truly sounds hormonal since she is aware of her actions/behavior after the fact and feels guilty (more proof she knows something is goofy with her).
Sounds like she just has too much time on her hands right now. Once her classes start, that should occupy her mind %26amp; hopefully she'll not be so worried about nothing.
She has turned into a wife.
She should get a job.
It sounds like too much time on her hands.
How about taking a full load of classes ?
And this is your problem, how???? Butt out!
Tell her to secretly vent in a blog or journal, where she can say anything no matter how nasty, just to get it out of her system instead of taking it out on her husband. If she does this on a regular basis, she'll notice patterns %26amp; can learn from the patterns.
A number of little things are probably building up %26amp; setting her off. If she can start to prevent these little things, then they won't build into anything major.
Some good rules to follow is NOT to fight dirty, think about what is specifically pissing her off, she needs to think it through in her head first before bringing it up. It seems when women don't get a good enough reaction, we like to be unnecessarily dramatic %26amp; say hurtful or ridiculous things to get a reaction.
NEVER bring up the past. Do not start saying nasty things about something that happened 2 years ago.
If she feels like she's getting no where by talking, LEAVE before it gets too heated up %26amp; she starts yelling.
She needs to sit down with her husband %26amp; tell him, if she tries to talk about something, then he needs to listen...whether she just had a bad day %26amp; needs someone to talk to, or if she gets sick of repeatedly reminding him to pick up his F'n socks off the floor lol.
Hope this helps!
